The Wassa Amenfi Central District Assembly, in collaboration with the Disability Fund Management Committee (DFMC) through the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, undertook a disbursement exercise for Persons Who Are Differently Abled (PWDAs) on Thursday, 26th February 2026, at the Agona Amenfi D/A School Park. The exercise brought together selected beneficiaries from the Agona, Agyakamanso, and Juabo Area Councils.

The exercise formed part of the Assembly’s commitment to promoting the welfare, social inclusion, and economic empowerment of Persons Who Are Differently Abled (PWDAs).

A total of fifty-one (51) beneficiaries, comprising eighteen (18) males and thirty-three (33) females, received various forms of support, including deep freezers, generators, wheelchairs, and start-up capital to enhance their livelihoods and promote self-reliance.

Beneficiaries were advised to use the items and financial support solely for their intended purposes to improve their livelihoods. They were also informed that selling or misusing the items is strictly prohibited and were cautioned against any such actions.

In his closing remarks, the District Chief Executive commended the Disability Fund Management Committee and the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development for their dedication and transparency in implementing the programme. He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring that Persons Who Are Differently Abled are given equal opportunities to improve their socio-economic well-being. He urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the support provided to enhance their living conditions, become economically independent, and serve as examples to others in their communities. He further assured the public that the Assembly would continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement programmes that promote inclusion and improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities throughout the District.
